The first VERSALIFT was built in 1965 by Bill Blewett and Russel Howard in Clifton, Texas. Measuring only 24 feet, the unit was used to allow telephone linemen to perform tasks at varying heights in a safe and dependable manner. In 1967, Charles B. Turner, whose family was involved with Palo Pinto Telephone Company, saw the future potential of such an aerial device and approached Howard and Blewett with a partnership offer. Howard accepted and Blewett sold his interest to Turner to stay in the telephone business. Howard and Turner moved to Waco, Texas in 1968 and officially formed TIME Manufacturing Company.
Since the creation of the 1965 Versalift, the product line of TIME Manufacturing has expanded to include over 30 Versalift model aerial lifts and digger derricks, as well as an extensive line of truck-mounted aerial work platforms known by the name CONDOR. TIME Manufacturings complete line of aerial devices today includes articulated overcenter and articulated non-overcenter aerial lifts, telescopic and telescopic/articulating aerial devices with working heights ranging from 29 to 210 feet.
