5G Bucket Trucks For A Mobile Telecommunications Revolution

Bucket trucks are being upfitted to address the unique challenge that telecommunications fleets face in installing a nationwide 5G network. 5G immensely improves speed, reduces latency, increases reliability, and greatly limits power consumption, all while supporting more device connections. The value of 5G mobile connectivity is huge, and installing the network is a huge effort.

Versalift Universal 5G Bucket Trucks are now available for purchase through Versalift distributors.

The Versalift Universal 5G bucket truck is designed in partnership with some of the largest national and regional telecommunications fleets.  This dedicated Universal 5G bucket truck combines a truck and splicing trailer into one safe, clean and efficient system. Telecommunications engineers and other technicians can connect, set up and support 5G antennas in fully climate-controlled aerial lift units.

Key Features of the Versalift Universal 5G Bucket Truck:

  • Versalift custom-designed body enclosure, with internal cable splicing unit

  • 19,500 lbs GVWR Super Duty Chassis

  • Taller aerial lift pedestal and workmen body enclosure

  • Fixed, drop down fly-boom for easy access and greater vertical reach (additional 2 feet)

  • Electric/hydraulic upper controls for better maneuverability

Taller Pedestal, Drop Down Boom, Extra Height

A newly designed taller pedestal is mounted at the fore of the chassis behind the cab, giving it clearance of the extra tall body while maintaining articulation needed to install units.  A key differentiator is that the Versalift unit has a fixed drop down boom. This allows technicians to safely access the bucket from the ground. This boom innovation also adds a full two extra feet of working height.

Bucket Trucks Will Enable Smart Grids

Smart grids are electricity networks that feature a two-way flow of both electric power and usage data. Using digital technology and sensors to detect and respond to changes in usage and demand. A national smart grid is one of many advantages of investing in a nationwide 5G network.  Smart grids are anticipated to add significant value through improvements to existing electric power infrastructure, and will enable far more sophisticated predictive tools and two-way communication between electric utility providers and their customers.

Versalift Universal 5G Units are Ready to Go

Versalift units are rolling off of the factory floor this month with custom specifications for dedicated accounts.  In addition, Versalift is designing and delivering a Ready to Go Specification for 5G installers across the country via its multiple upfit locations.
