Versalift Global Expansion – Deepening Relationships with Kenya Power & Lighting

Versalift’s global expansion continues to bloom. In the six years that Versalift’s International Sales Organization, known as Time International, has been working with public and private infrastructure groups in Kenya, important change has occurred in many ways. Kenya is a great example of a growing African country that is focused upon innovation, organization and forward-thinking. Versalift is delighted to announce that its international sales organization, Time International, is deepening its relationship with Kenya’s state-owned electric power organization, Kenya Power & Lighting Company. What began as a pilot program six years ago has become a solid ongoing business relationship.

Versalift Global Expansion – Electric Power Infrastructure Development in Africa

The most recently compiled set of World Bank research on electric power infrastructure in Africa, which was produced in 2011, presents a complex picture of the Continent, with many opportunities and challenges for both public and private organizations. One message that was very clearly delivered by the World Bank report is that when developing countries invest in their electric power infrastructure, many other forms of development become possible. This fact is undoubtedly true in many places around the world, and it is true in Africa. Across the continent, a large electric power sharing plan has been implemented, which has contributed to greater development efforts happening between neighboring countries in each African region.

Versalift Global Expansion Includes Selling High Reach Equipment in Kenya

Time International is supporting the Kenya Power & Lighting Company with a variety of high-reach equipment, with units, both delivered and currently in production, in the United States and Europe. As is the case with all Versalift customer relationships, operator safety training and other support services are provided to fleet managers and aerial lift operators employed by Kenya Power & Lighting Company. So far, the company has ordered heavy-duty VST-47-I insulated aerial lifts and TMD-2050 digger derricks for electric power distribution. The company currently has larger VST-52-MHI units in service, and a group of lighter non-insulated LAT39-140TB units, mounted on Hino-300 chassis, purposed for light and sign maintenance.

Versalift is happy to support the extension of Kenya Power & Lighting Company’s fleet, and will continue to support the growth and maintenance responsibilities of this innovative and forward-thinking company.
