These organizations work in industries such as electric utilities, telecommunications, forestry, sign & light, construction, and wind turbine blade maintenance. Some of these organizations, which do operate in both the private and public sectors, are investor-owned companies, and they are beginning to use a set of broadly-accepted risk assessment criteria that is called ESG. Companies use these criteria to make informed buying decisions while addressing the wishes of their shareholders. ESG factors are broken into three groups: Environmental, Social and Governance.
