Versalift is an industry-leading vehicle mounted platform manufacturer with global manufacturing and distribution operations. Founded in 1965 in Texas, USA, Versalift has more than 50 years of experience in the design and manufacture of the safest and most reliable access equipment available on the market. Since its formation in 1994, Versalift UK has sold more than 7,000 vehicle-mounted access platforms and currently holds a dominant market share of nearly 90%.

Versalift UK is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Time Manufacturing Company, which was acquired The Sterling Group in 2017. Based in Houston, TX, The Sterling Group is an American private equity firm. Aerial Work Platforms – Product Offerings

Vehicle-mounted access platforms are essential equipment for many organizations that require vertical access to accomplish their work. Depending on the task, Versalift UK can mount an access platform to many vehicle types, including van-mounted aerials, pick up-mounted work platforms, track-mounted aerial access platforms and several bespoke options.

 

Versalift UK offers bespoke chassis and truck build options that range in working height from approximately 13m to 24m. Available as insulated or non-insulated units, and with a range of horizontal reach and material handling options, bespoke Versalift units are generally installed on chassis that weighs 3.5 tonnes or more.

 

Aerial work platforms that are built, assembled and upfitted by Versalift UK are well-suited to support several heavy applications, and are often used for:

  • Visual communications, traffic signals and roadway lighting

  • Overhead electrical systems maintenance

  • Telecommunications network construction

  • Arborist and tree care applications

 

Versalift UK customers that prefer to use bespoke aerial work platforms do so because they are built to spec and provide conveniences and options that account for specific challenges on the jobsite. There are dozens of options on any Versalift bespoke unit. For example, customised lockers can be installed for tools and equipment storage.

Aerial Work Platform Operator Training

Versalift UK provides Manufacturer training direct to our customers. At Versalift, we know that training improves overall safety, increases productivity and enhances jobsite awareness while fulfilling the legal obligations for the safe operation of a Mobile Elevated Work Platform.

 

Aerial Lift Operation & Safety Training Through IPAF

Versalift UK has an IPAF-accredited training centre on its campus, which provides operator training courses for the IPAF Powered Access License (PAL card). Valid for five years, this is the most widely held and recognised proof of training for platform operators in the UK . The International Powered Access Federation’s Powered Access License Card meets or exceeds the ISO 18878 international standard.

Aerial Work Platform Training – IPAF COURSES at Versalift UK

 

Operator Safety Training – operator learns to prepare and safely operate various types of MEWPs.

PAL+ – One day of category-specific training focused upon operators working in higher risk or challenging environments.

Insulated Aerial Device – Safe operation and preparation of an insulated platform.

Competent Assessed Persons – Provides guidance for platform engineers on compliance with regulatory requirements. Also provides documented evidence that individuals can be regarded as competent persons to plan, manage or conduct thorough examinations of powered access equipment.

Demonstrators – Trains an equipment demonstrator to familiarise operators with their responsibilities. Additionally, demonstrators learn pre-operational and safe operating procedures, as well as the limitations of MEWPs.

Instructors – Trains and assesses an instructor to understand the delivery of the IPAF training programme, assesses knowledge on machines and ability to convey information to candidates.

MEWPs for Managers – The essential, one-day course for those who plan, supervise and manage the use of mobile elevating work platforms in the workplace.

Harness Use and Inspection – Instructs a user to select, inspect and use a harness and associated equipment safely when using a MEWP.

Loading/Unloading – Instructs an operator in the correct safety procedures for the loading, unloading and securing of machinery prior to or following transportation by road.

Pre-Delivery Inspection – Enables trainees to perform PDIs of MEWPs in a structured and systematic way.
